My name is Rama Hughes. I am excited to be your art teacher! I am a working artist and an award-winning educator. My students and art programs in Los Angeles have received ongoing national recognition by publications including the Washington Post, Scholastic Art, and SchoolArts Magazine. I have been teaching for 20 years. I originated the Portrait Party drawing game that was made popular online and in the pages of SchoolArts and The Artist’s Magazine. I have led art workshops for more than 20 schools and organizations including the American Institute of Graphic Arts and Art Center, College of Design. I have spent 4 happy years mentoring other art teachers. I currently serve as a contributing editor to SchoolArts and an editorial advisor to Scholastic Art.
Parents often tell me that they wish they could take my art classes. Many ask if I am available to teach their children privately or online. The lessons that you find here provide that opportunity. Artists, educators, families, schools, and art lovers of all skill levels are encouraged to join.
